The Commonwealth of Nations is an intergovernmental organization of fifty-three member states. All member states, except Mozambique and Rwanda, were formerly part of the British Empire.

Queen Elizabeth II is the current holder of the ceremonial position as Head of the Commonwealth. She is also, separately and independently, the monarch of sixteen Commonwealth members, which are known as the Commonwealth realms.
